My Baofeng Radio, installed in my car!
It feels like it was a long winter week, but in retrospect, it was a good one.
For one thing, I finally got some little things that were sitting on the back burner done. For example, I went through all of my saved passwords and removed duplicates and non-applicable ones, so now I feel more organized, now. For another thing, and I'm afraid it won't be very apparent from most of the front end, but I got a lot of things fixed on my website! And after such a long time, I now have a functional and robust password self-service reset form, too! I know that's not a big thing to brag about for those of you who are pretty proficient in coding and web development, but I'm a one-person-team network engineer who knows just enough PHP to be dangerous, so take me where I'm at! Who knows when I'll get around to it, but my next goal is to fix the way pictures are displaying inline on this website, and also setup a proper registration process.
In other news, I finally got the balls to go out and ride my bike this winter. It was a good experience, even if I did quickly realize how out of shape I've gotten. To combat it, my wife and I played Minecraft on a new world I setup on my server, this week. It's been a long, long week for us both in various ways.
Other than that, besides installing a really powerful but small Baofeng Radio in my vehicle (mostly- the rest of the process will be worth its own story when I get there), it's just been another week- busy at work, quiet at home, and my tasks feeling mostly like a never-ending uphill battle. But I carry on, whenever I feel either confident or discouraged, because it's just what must be done. Certainly, the moments when I encounter success help fuel me, but I've learned it's best to never rely on that fuel; the best fuel to rely on, in my experience, is a desire to create, a desire to serve others, and faith in myself and in my God. One of these things for me, lately, has been lacking- though it's probably not the one you would guess. Anyways, I hope I'm able to get better at it in the coming weeks and months. And of course, those weeks and months start with minutes and hours.
And on that wise, I should spend these next handful of hours getting some sleep, as I have a pretty busy day and week coming up. Until next time, see ya!
