My local park doubles as a water retention basin, and the sunset view was absolutely breathtaking.

Among the more interesting things done this week, I ate rabbit for the first time- and it was... good. Not outstanding, not bad, but good. The stew we made of it was pretty great, though. And honestly, that's all there is to really tell about that one.

The biggest thing this week has been my wife and I looking at homes. There was one that was good, but not all that great, and there was one that was great, but already had two offers on it. So, our adventures continue onward. It's times like these that make me wish I had only been born a few years sooner- for then I would have just barely missed the big market surge in housing, and wouldn't have to be paying ungodly monthly bills to rent. But such wishes are just a part of living, and of course I know I am here and now for a reason, and I must play my part bravely and try my best. Here's to hoping in the coming weeks we find a glimmer of success.

But in brighter news, I had the privilege to play a fun game this week- The Colossal Cave. I admit I never did play the original text-based adventure masterpiece of the 70's, but having played many of the games that inspired it, especially Sierra's King's Quest, seeing Sierra bring this one back to life all these years later with actual visuals was too tempting of an offer. And it was well worth it with no regrets. The game is a visual adventure, the exploration aspect of it is super fun, and the elements of mystery and enchantment are absolutely perfect. I won't pretend this is better than a lot of their original titles that they put out- those are just forever masterpieces in my eyes- but this was a fun way for Ken and Roberta Williams to reintroduce themselves to the gaming world- and I for one say, Welcome Back!

But other than that, it's just been another cold-ish warm-ish week of waiting for real springtime to kick in. Until next time, see ya!
