An overnight snowstorm that came right out of nowhere and covered our covered patio in snow. Yikes.
And there goes another week of what I wish would be biking weather, but continues to be impossibly snowy weather for this late in March... which is honestly the biggest thing I can say happened this week. Truth be told, it's just been a typical busy week at work, and a boring week at home. I suppose the most excitement I can say I had was helping my mother move furniture in and out of her family room so hard wood flooring could be installed.
Well, okay, there's technically one other cool thing that happened this week, and it only happened today, and it's that I got my new PineTime Watch! If you aren't familiar with what that is, don't worry, it's a somewhat niche product. There may be some out there who have heard of the PinePhone, which is essentially an effort to create a smart phone that runs totally open source software, and meets the ease and use of day-to-day needs. It's definitely at the point where it has met the former of those two things... that latter, as I understand it, is a work in progress. But there's another project under the same blanket, called the PineTime watch, which is- you guessed it, an open-source software watch! And for the less than 24 hours I've worn it today, I have to say, it's not too bad so far! I can tell it's got a few bugs here and there; but being a project, and especially for how cheaply this is sold, if anything, I think it exceeded my expectations. I'll try and remember to post more here next week, after I've had the chance to use it, some.
But other than that, I've just had to be very patient with myself this week- in more than one way. On the one hand, we're looking at houses so we can actually own a place and stop renting, and settle somewhere where we can actually raise a family- but the process to find a good, proper house that meets both of our expectations is not an easy one. And on the other hand, like I said at the beginning of this whole post, SNOW. I have been restraining myself from saying it, because gosh darnit, this precipitation is needed super badly, and I'm grateful we have it... but I just wish it would be done so I could go biking, again- or do anything outdoors, really!
And so it is my lot for this week, to be patient in these things. And probably for the next few weeks to come. That's life, right? Until next time, see ya!
