Revamped Website and The Power of Thinking

Sometimes you gotta take a braver and bolder step forward in life. I don't know if I can say what I did falls under that qualification, strictly... honestly, it falls more under the "it's about time" category of things- but I finally setup this website to actually promote my business... not that I'm so certain that I have everything figured out one hundred percent, but, as the old saying goes, "You gotta start somewhere".

And where did our Halloween start? Well, it started with my wife getting pretty sick. I definitely have a brave and strong woman of a wife, though, because even in her sickly and weak, feverish state (indeed, with a fever of 101), she went into work that morning, because no one else responded to her, asking if they could cover for her. Mercifully, she only was there for a couple of hours before someone volunteered to cover the rest of her shift- and no, this isn't the first time this has happened to her, and it's by far not the first time it's happened to anybody. But it was a chance for me to look upon my wife as a brave and strong role model, a champion of not giving up when it's hard. And I feel it worthy to boast of her and of that good virtue. You rock, honey!

This week's tech adventure is something that, if you know me well enough, might surprise you that I hadn't yet looked into or done: Boot camp. Yes, I sat around the other day, pondering if there was a feasible way to have a portable laptop-like device that runs either Mac or Windows, should the need arise for one or the other. When I realized just how easy Boot Camp was to setup, I felt like a kid exploring a new, big playground! I mean, I've installed Windows hundreds of times over, by now, surely- but installing it on an Apple device? Something about that just feels so rebellious and fun, and like I'm really accomplishing something weird and wacky. And yet, at the end of the day, all I really did was setup a dual-booting laptop with proprietary firmware... okay, I guess when I word it that way, it sounds actually even more accomplishing.

But really, it was a much, much easier process than I had imagined! And yeah, on the one hand, I was up until almost 6 in the morning configuring it to my liking, but that's really just because I got such a late start on it to begin with- well, that and I am one who LOVES customization- especially when it comes to stupid, nosy, bloaty Windows. Speaking of which, shameless plug, but if you are a Windows user, I would TOTALLY recommend giving this app a quick spin. Easy, quick way to make Windows that much less bloaty and nosy on your machine and in your life. On that note, if you are under the impression that Windows isn't really all that intrusive into your privacy... well, just go some quick five minute research and google "windows bad privacy"... yeah.

But then, as I've outline in one of the big five qualities of the MedjoPangit company, unless you understand the logic of the beast, you will only be a prisoner to it. I don't claim to understand every thorough bit of how things works in technology- least of all Windows as a whole! But the more we just dismiss any attempt to understand it, the tighter we draw the noose around our necks. I know that's a bit morbid imagery, but I really am adamant about the fact that some of these companies *COUGHmicrosoftCOUGH* are borderline criminally working their works in very deceptive practices and advertising, so as to keep the general populous right under their arm where they want them- blissfully ignorant.

Yes, at this point feel free to mention the tinfoil hat that's sitting square on my head- I know, I know. But if I am found guilty of being too much of a thinker versus too little, I think it's safe to say which way you'll find me. And while overthinking is all the worse, I think you and I should try a little each day to open our minds and not just go through the motions of life. I really believe we have a lot we can contribute if we do!

But enough of this week's rant... which comes a little later than I meant it to. Until next time, see ya!
