From one adventure to another- I probably sound like a broken record with that idea, but it feels like life just keeps picking up and getting faster and faster, and there's just no time to enjoy it all. But I do.
We made it back safely from our northwest pacific vacation just fine, in spite of the timezone change and 12 hour drive. And we made it back one day before we had elected to host a whole bunch of family at our house for the weekend. And between the time we made it home and crashed on our bed, and the time they came over, I managed to route some wiring in the family room for surround speakers and finally got that all officially setup and optimized. It was fun!
While we had family over, I also went ahead and installed a rope swing in our backyard. I can't even think about how long it's been since I had a real rope swing in my own backyard... I must've been about 7. On top of that, I'm glad I'm still rocking my muscles just well enough to climb trees freestyle! I managed to hang that rope in a good, high place. And boy, had I forgotten about the fun sensation it is to ride a free pivoting rope swing!
Otherwise, a lot of my time this weekend was spent in the entertaining of my niece, among the rest of my in-laws. It was just a fun, good time, and oh, yeah, my wife and I also celebrated our 7th anniversary! How does that happen- seven years!? I know full well that not everyone is blessed with relationships with people that last- and maybe that deserves its own rant, but that'll have to come another day- suffice to say, I hope everyone out there is looking for a relationship with one companion to last for the eternities- in any case, I am glad I have that! My wife is my greatest adventuring companion, and yeah, even with our love, we face challenges learning about each other, even seven years in to marriage. But I am so blessed with a soul who is beautiful both inside and outside, has a kind and caring heart while knowing when to be strict and stern, and whose eyes sparkle like diamonds- which perfectly compliments her gleaming smile. I love you, dear!
And I hope others both strive for and are able to find that in their lives- if not today then tomorrow, or perhaps many months or years down the road. Until next time, see ya!
