[NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART] Jut a few of the nests I found and destroyed.
Not at the same time, mind you... actually there might've been some mild singing involved, come to think of it... meh, whatever, why not both?
Yeah, it's been another fast and fun week in the life. On Thursday, I found myself rehearsing with a choral group I perform with (I'm pretty dang new, so I'm still learning a lot) and we practiced an arrangement of Bon Jovi's Livin' on a Prayer. As a tenor in that arrangement, there are some pretty stinkin' high notes to hit- and combine that with the fact that by the very nature of the song, you gotta sing it like you mean it, plus the double whammy of me trying to sightread my part- once we finished the song and sat down, it occurred to me that I couldn't actually see straight. In fact, it was about 15 minutes before my good vision returned. So when you say you sing your heart out, the question is... did you really, though?
And then there was last night- I found myself getting irritated with the amount of wasps trying to quickly and constantly create nests in my shed door frame. So I bit the bullet and unscrewed the inside door panel, let it fall off, and witnessed about a dozen or two little wasp nests see the light of day... or dusk. You kidding me? Doing that in daylight would be suicide. But yeah, while it wasn't the crazy extreme you might expect to see on some online viral video, there were a fair amount of nests, and a couple of them were just crawling with activity. It was a fast and merciless battle, but it had to be done, what can I say?
Well, I can say that at least my weekend was pretty cool. We went out camping with my in-laws and the woods we stayed in were lovely; and the lake we visited was awesome! It was so jam packed that weekend we almost weren't even able to get in, but I'm glad we did, because it was a lovely time.
And at the end of the week, and the beginning of this one, it feels like life is just running on and on. And the moment I stop to breathe I keep thinking about the mounting list of things to take care of. And yet, on the contrary, I guess it's important to remember that while ambition is good, so is patience. And that's honestly the most to say about this week, I think; nothing too deep or insane, really. So... until next time, see ya!
