To say my week has been busy almost feels like an understatement. I've been taking on, like 4 big undertakings at a time.
First, I started by deciding to build my sister a gaming PC. I had a spare motherboard, but it was kind of wimpy in terms of gaming, so I decided to do some switching around with my motherboard situation. And what started as an idea to shift motherboards between three cases turned into late and long hours of shifting between, in fact, five cases over the course of two days and very late nights.
But I guess I thought I wasn't stressed enough with that alone, so at work, I started the ball rolling on a fire station my IT company manages and migrating stuff of their old setup onto our new one. That might've been fine enough, but then I also had to simultaneously take on another large project at the same time of cutting over the core network and server at a charter school. Which also wouldn't have been nearly as bad, except that the OS on the server REFUSED to upgrade and so migrating form the old one to the new one was quite a tricky task. Plus, after having cut over their core network switch, problems arose between their two campuses which cased hours-worth of stress and grief, trying to find the issue. Meanwhile on the fire stations project, I spent essentially all day Thursday getting things going with them- and I mean ALL DAY. I was there til nearly midnight, and even then I didn't finish what I had intended- nor did I the following day when i had to come early in the morning to continue my work, and then immediately have to abandon ship there to go over to the per-scheduled cutover for that charter school. Long story short, STRESSSSSS. I guess it's saying something when helping clean my mother's garage on Saturday was the relaxing activity of the week.
But I do happily report that I found good things this week- I mean, aside from learning by experience and good old trial-by-error education in these events. It's been over a decade since it came out, and after having finally just watched the movie, I can say it's... pretty cool for visuals. Tron: Legacy's soundtrack, though, is one of the coolest things I've ever heard, though, and if you haven't given it a listen, ...then what are you doing? Go, listen to it! One of my favorite tracks is easily "Flynn Lives". That soundtrack has helped get me through this week, I'll tell you that much.
But in other good news, Sophos got back with me and gave me three more chances on that test, so at the very least, I am pleased with their responsiveness and aptitude. Granted, I still have yet to re-attempt those, but with how busy my week's been... you can probably see why. And while this next week probably won't be as bad, I still have much to do. Or, as one of my favorite poems by one of my favorite poets goes, "And miles to before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep.
By the way, while I laughingly say that line in my head when I know I've got a lot on the old to-do list, if you haven't heard this song (another music recommendation, I know), it's the exact opposite of the Tron: Legacy soundtrack; where that one is kickin' awesome beats and epic scoring, this is a tune to paint in your mind a picture- perhaps it's one you've even seen, before, and yet it's so strange and mystical, as if it were almost from a dream. Listen to "Stopping By Woods On a Snowy Evening". Go ahead, give it a listen, now! Isn't that just so magnificent? That's one of the things I love about music- it can put you in such an energetic and excited mood, it can paint a canvas of magical imagery in one's mind, and so much more. There's almost no limit to what music can do to you- you being the only limitation.
Anyway, enjoy this week's recommendations. Are there songs special to you, that paint a vivid and mysterious image in your mind when you hear them? Comment below! I'm liable to totally forget to check the comments, but who knows, you might introduce me to a magic world which I never could have imagined. Until next time, peace!
