A Turn for The Worse

I am a day late posting here, but it's with good reason. Yesterday, I discovered I have covid. Or at least, very likely, if the rapid test was accurate. So, I was an achy, tired and yet sleepless lump of uselessness, yesterday. Today, I'm a little better. All the same, you probably have an idea of what to expect in my next week's blog entry... not much. Wee, isolation is fun. But on to some of the things this week that were more interesting. For months, now, I had run into a problem on my home network... or networks. You see, I setup a few different subnets to keep things separated- have my IoT devices on one network, guest access on another, etc. And seemingly out of the blue, a few months ago, it stopped working. I finally decided to try to readdress it last week, and it took a lot of troubleshooting. Finally, I decided to trace things a little more physically, and found out I had switched two plugs on a switch by accident, and it was causing half of my Wi-fi network not to be able to broadcast the right networks.

So, in basic, this week's moral of the story is just that. Sometimes all it takes is one small element to tip the scale of balance. This is true of both good things and bad things. Just like this one mix-up of switch ports caused a temporary downfall of my subnetting at home, sometimes all it takes to end a great evil is one person, who is willing to stand up for unselfish reasons to help those around them.

I'm still pretty out of it, so I'm going to end this week's entry, here. Until next time, see ya!
